AIIB approved a loan of USD33 million to the Government of Cambodia for P000707 Cross-border Livestock Health and Value-chain Infrastructure Improvement Project. This project aims to strengthen animal and human health safety and promote cross-border livestock trading in five of the six countries comprising the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) namely, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, Thailand, and China.
The project received an investment grant amount of USD10 million from the Pandemic Fund. The grant, together with the loan from AIIB, will be used to support the (i) establishment of surveillance and early warning systems, (ii) improvement of laboratory systems, and (iii) strengthening of human resources.
