AIIB's Corporate Strategy recognizes that the Bank's mission can be achieved only by working with others. With a growing network of institutional partners, every AIIB partnership follows four fundamental principles of Client focus, Value Addition, Operational adaptability, and Institutional trust. In line with AIIB's principles, partnerships are designed to achieve operational and strategic goals, including resource mobilization, knowledge exchange and capacity building, and global and regional cooperation.

Partnering Through Co-financing

Co-financing is central to AIIB's mandate and operational approach. AIIB provides flexible co-financing models that allow for reliance on partners' safeguards, procurement systems and supervision frameworks that meet standards equivalent to those of the Bank. AIIB Members and clients have recognized the value of co-financing as it aligns to the clients, amplifies impact, comparative advantages and expertise, market expansion.

Mobilizing Resources for Clients' Support

To bridge the infrastructure financing gap and better serve our Members, AIIB unlocks concessional, blended, and philanthropic capital with Technical Assistance Partners, Philanthropies and Foundations. AIIB mobilizes external financial and technical resources which support project preparation, enable knowledge sharing, strengthen institutional capacity, and expand development impact.

AIIB’s Special Funds

AIIB's Special Funds allow us to receive and manage donor grants for projects and activities aligned with project identification, preparation, and implementation; enhance clients' capability via the financing of technical assistance and capacity building. AIIB operates two types of Special Funds, Internal Special Funds and External Special Funds.
