Public Consultation: Draft Policy on Public Information

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has initiated a Call for Public Consultations on the first draft of its Policy on Public Information.

AIIB is inviting a diverse stakeholder group to provide their comments and suggestions on the proposed approach to the public disclosure of information. This feedback will help AIIB adopt a Policy on Public Information that best aligns with the guiding principles of promoting transparency, enhancing accountability and protecting confidentiality.

The Background Paper on the Public Information Interim Policy Review provides additional information regarding how the draft Policy was developed and how the Policy will be implemented once approved.


Please note that the public consultation process will last eight weeks starting Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 and ending Friday, Mar. 16, 2018. We reserve the right to extend the length of the public consultation period.

How to Participate

Written Submissions

During the public consultation process, written submissions can be sent through the following channels:

Only submissions in English will be accepted.

Audio/Video Consultations

We will be hosting video and/or audio based consultations with interested stakeholders according to the schedule below.

These consultations will provide an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Policy on Public Information. To ensure that everyone has a chance to speak, each session will have a maximum of five connections with interested parties. Each session will be held in English and may last up to two hours.

Finalizing the Policy

Once the public consultation period has ended, the input from the video/audio consultations and written submissions will inform the preparation of the final draft of the Policy on Public Information, which will be submitted to AIIB’s Board of Directors for adoption.

Upon adoption, the final Policy on Public Information and a summary of the consultations will then be posted on AIIB’s website for public access.
