AIIB Invests USD10 Million in NIO Capital Eve ONE Fund III, Contributing to Tech-enabled Infrastructure Development

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is investing USD10 million in NIO Capital Eve ONE Fund III to support early-stage companies developing technologies for the digitalization and decarbonization of the transport and energy sectors. The investment builds on AIIB’s earlier partnership through the Eve ONE Fund II.

Managed by NIO Capital, the Eve ONE Fund III’s focus will include electric mobility, autonomous driving, battery technologies, energy storage, renewable energy, robotics and digital solutions. The fund will invest in technologies supporting the transition to lower-carbon infrastructure and energy systems.

“We are witnessing technology reshape how infrastructure is designed and experienced in everyday life, while opening new opportunities to reduce emissions and use resources more efficiently,” said Kim-See Lim, AIIB Chief Investment Officer 1. “Through this investment, AIIB aims to mobilize additional private capital to help promising technologies scale up the development of more sustainable infrastructure.”

The investment is being made under AIIB’s Venture Capital Investment Program for Green and Technology-enabled Infrastructure, which reinforces cooperation with the venture capital ecosystem and enables the Bank to support companies developing early business models to achieve technology innovation and infrastructure efficiency.

“We are honored to deepen our strategic partnership with AIIB through Eve ONE Fund III,” said Ian Zhu, Managing Partner at NIO Capital. “AIIB’s continued support is a strong testament to our shared vision of driving the global transition toward a low-carbon economy. With this fund, we will continue to identify and nurture visionary entrepreneurs who are leveraging cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize the mobility and energy sectors, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future.”

The investment aligns with AIIB’s four thematic priorities – Green Infrastructure, Technology-enabled Infrastructure, Connectivity and Regional Cooperation, and Private Capital Mobilization. In addition to supporting technological innovation, the fund is expected to help promising companies broaden the scope of their solutions, attract additional investment and intensify their participation in regional and global markets.
