AIIB Completes Record 2026 Funding Program with USD688 Million 5-Year Floating Rate Benchmark

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB, AAA/Aaa/AAA) has completed its 2026 public funding program with a USD688 million 5-year floating rate note (FRN), bringing total funding for the year to USD11 billion, the Bank's largest annual funding program to date.

The funding program helps translate investor demand into long-term financing for sustainable infrastructure across AIIB’s members.

The latest transaction attracted an order book of over USD1.4 billion and priced at SOFR +34 basis points, one basis point inside initial guidance. It was AIIB's first FRN issuance since tapping its 2027 line in 2023 and was both the Bank’s largest, and tightest spread over SOFR, for a 5-year FRN.

AIIB completed 10 benchmark transactions across seven currencies in 2026, including four USD benchmarks in a single year for the first time. The program supported the continued development of AIIB's USD curve while broadening the Bank's presence across global capital markets.

“The strong result of this transaction confirms the consistent investor support we have had throughout the year,” AIIB Treasurer Domenico Nardelli said. “In 2026, the depth of investor demand we have seen across markets demonstrates the strength of AIIB's funding franchise as the Bank continues to grow.”

“Our focus this year was not simply to raise more funding but to use the larger program strategically across currencies and maturities,” said Darren Stipe, AIIB Head of Funding. “That approach has allowed us to build out our curves, increase our presence in key markets and create greater flexibility as we plan for 2027.”
