Board of Directors

Ms. Manisha Sinha is a member of the Board of Directors. A career civil servant with more than 30 years of experience, she has held various positions with the Government of India since 1992, conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and managing national policies and programs. Her expertise spans multilateral development banks (MDBs), human resource management, change management, and project management, fostering large-scale public-private partnerships with measurable and defined results.

She is currently Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. She oversees policy matters related to MDBs, international financial institutions (IFIs), externally aided projects, crypto assets, and currency management. She represents India on governance and management issues of IFIs, including at the World Bank Group (WBG), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the New Development Bank (NDB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), both as a Board member and a government representative. Since 2023, she has also been a member of the Crypto Working Group of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), contributing to its work on crypto assets with a focus on emerging markets and developing economies. She also played an important role in the Indian G20 Presidency’s Finance Track team, leading negotiations on the crypto assets’ agenda, culminating in the conceptualization of the IMF-FSB Synthesis Paper.

She has also worked in the fields of skills development, textile export promotion, culture and heritage, and financial services. She holds a master’s degree in development studies with a specialization in public policy and management from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands, and a master’s in history from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Ms. Sinha is from India.
