FINANCING CARE INFRASTRUCTURE

A new report published by UN Women and AIIB underscores the urgent need for public development banks (PDBs) to invest in care infrastructure as a key driver of gender equality and prosperous societies. The report highlights diverse approaches to care sector investment and provides a roadmap for financial institutions to foster innovation and implement best practices tailored to various socio-economic contexts.

INFRASTRUCTURE FOR PLANETARY HEALTH

Amid accelerating climate change and an increasingly challenged global health system, AIIB's new report redefines how we think of, invest in, and build systems to safeguard human health. Without novel approaches, human-induced changes to climate nature and biodiversity threaten to undermine decades of progress in global health.

INVESTING IN CLIMATE ACTION

Reflecting our commitment to support the Paris Agreement, AIIB has set an ambitious target of ensuring that 50% of overall approved financing by 2025 will be directed toward climate finance.

VIEW OVERVIEW
"In 2024, we introduced an instrument – Climate-Focused Policy-Based Financing. Moving beyond project-by-project lending, this new instrument enables AIIB to support members to undertake climate-positive policy reforms and scale up climate finance. Our policy-based financing will put specific emphasis on policy reforms that are conducive to crowding in private-sector investments."
