DESCRIPTION

The subject project will address the solid waste emergency in the Metro Colombo Region, and to build the government’s capacity for integrated solid waste management. The purpose of this grant is to enhance the preparatory work and to ensure that it will meet AIIB’s requirements and be in line with good international practice, so as to enable the commencement of the implementation on time. The project preparation grant will provide overall support to the Project Management Unit on project management and capacity building during the project preparation, and will also specifically finance consultancy services on technical design, procurement, environmental and social assessments for the project perpetration.
