Bin Wang

Bin Wang is Acting Director General of the Operational Partnerships Department (OPD), which leads the design and execution of the Bank's partnership strategy, manages the Bank's engagement with global and regional multilateral cooperation forums, coordinates internal efforts to facilitate strategic engagements with partnerships, facilitates overall management of the Bank's Special Funds resources, and leads the Bank’s engagement with grant and concessional resource providers. Wang has held progressively senior roles in the Bank, including Manager of OPD. Before joining the Bank in February 2016, he was part of the Working Group and Multilateral Interim Secretariat for Establishing AIIB, where he worked on the preparation of bilateral consultation plans and liaised with future Member economies of the Bank. He also served with the People’s Bank of China, focusing on international relationships and financial cooperation, and helped establish the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO). Wang was also an economist at the International Monetary Fund, where he worked on macroprudential policy, monetary policy, liberalization of the global capital account and capital flow management, among others. He has a Diploma, MA and a PhD in Economics from Loughborough University in the UK. Wang is from the People’s Republic of China.
