AIIB Invests USD75 Million to Support Advanced Green Manufacturing Investment in Türkiye

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has signed an RMB-denominated loan of up to USD75 million equivalent to support the establishment of an advanced manufacturing facility in Türkiye by Great Rich Technology Co. Ltd (GRT). The project is cofinanced with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group.

The facility in Kırklareli, Türkiye, will produce energy-saving window films, materials designed for carbon dioxide and volatile organic compound absorption, and paint protection films – all expected to help reduce industrial emissions while supporting the adoption of advanced low-emissions materials in emerging markets. It will be GRT’s first overseas production base.

“This investment reflects AIIB’s commitment to support industrial transformation through innovative technologies that advance decarbonization,” said Najeeb Haider, Director General of AIIB’s Project and Corporate Finance Clients Department, Global. “Advanced manufacturing facilities such as GRT’s can promote cleaner production, strengthen supply chains and facilitate technology transfer, with long-term benefits for regional markets.”

Through localized manufacturing, the new facility will also help strengthen Türkiye’s position as a regional production hub linking Europe, Asia and surrounding markets.

“The Türkiye facility marks GRT’s strategic transition from ‘serving global markets through domestic bases’ to ‘achieving local delivery through regional manufacturing,’” said Jiangzhe Xiang, Director of GRT. “This represents the first time we have deployed a complete production system overseas in its entirety. Going forward, we will leverage Türkiye as a strategic hub, using local production capacity to achieve rapid responsiveness and broader coverage across our target international markets.”

Aligned with AIIB’s core thematic priorities of green infrastructure, technology-enabled infrastructure, connectivity and regional cooperation, and private capital mobilization, the project demonstrates the Bank’s continued support for sustainable private-sector investment and advanced manufacturing in Türkiye.
